We have all seen players and teams that do not reach their full potential, not because of a lack of physical ability, but because of a lack of something else: The Intangibles of Winning
Improving performance across all sports
The Prep-2Win Mental Performance Program covers the Intangibles of Winning through 30-minute team sessions in addition to 1 on 1 meetings with each player, allowing for a deeper dive into the unique mindsets of each player, providing them with the tools required to reach their full potential.
Coaches and players can book these sessions at their convenience with the scheduling link provided to them by Prep-2Win.
Leaders play a crucial role in setting a vision, promoting inclusivity, and fostering open communication, accountability, and a supportive environment. This helps in creating a cohesive and motivated team that works towards common goals.
An elite mindset encompasses a growth mindset, confidence, resilience, optimism, and a relentless focus on excellence. These traits enable individuals to overcome challenges, stay positive, and continuously strive for improvement.
Maintaining concentration, situational awareness, presence, adaptability, and self-awareness are essential for optimal performance. These attributes help individuals stay engaged, make informed decisions, and adjust to changing conditions effectively.
Intrinsic motivation, clear goal setting, persistence, team commitment, and a strong work ethic drive individuals to put in the effort required for success. These elements ensure sustained dedication and a collective focus on achieving goals.
Consistency, discipline, attention to detail, continuous learning, and a habit of reflection and feedback are key to maintaining high standards. These practices help in achieving precision, adapting to new challenges, and continuously improving performance.
Elliott Curtis began his career as an athlete playing baseball in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada before moving on to Division 1 College Baseball at the University of Kentucky.
After experiencing much success in his junior season, Elliott sustained a nearly career-ending ankle injury at the beginning of his senior season. Despite this, Elliott was named to the SEC Honor Roll and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Unable to return to college baseball due to the injury, Elliott made the jump to professional baseball playing two seasons in the MLB Partner Frontier League, first with Equipe Quebec in 2021 and with Les Aigles de Trois-Rivieres in 2022.
Elliott’s experience overcoming adversity in addition to his Psychology education, Mental Performance Mastery Certification (Brian Cain), experience in college and professional baseball, as well as his passion for developing young athletes enable him to positively impact players in a multitude of ways.
The key is not the will to win. Everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important.
Bobby Knight
Achieving peak mental performance in sports is often the decisive factor between success and failure for athletes. Beyond physical prowess, athletes must harness their mental faculties to excel under pressure, maintain focus amidst distractions, and execute strategic decisions swiftly.
Mental preparation involves cultivating resilience to setbacks, visualizing success, and fine-tuning concentration to block out external noise. Confidence plays a pivotal role, bolstered by thorough preparation and belief in one’s abilities. Emotions, from anxiety to euphoria, are navigated with emotional intelligence, ensuring they enhance rather than hinder performance.
Ultimately, athletes who master their mental game unlock the potential to achieve remarkable feats, transforming challenges into opportunities for personal and team triumphs.
